A Chinese businessman carrying cryptocurrency assets in İstanbul was found dead, buried in a field in Arnavutköy.
The police first learned of the case on January 24, when the lawyer of 38‑year‑old Chinese national Yong Wang filed a missing persons report at the Bakırköy Police Department. Officers immediately began an investigation, searching for any clues that might explain Wang’s sudden disappearance.
Later on, the investigators examined the GPS data from Wang’s vehicle to trace his last known movements. The information showed that the car stopped in a field in the Baklalı neighborhood on İstanbul’s European side. Based on this lead, the search teams were sent to the area to look for any kind of evidence.

When the search teams arrived at the field, they found the body of Wang with his hands, feet, and mouth bound tightly with tape, indicating that he had been killed before he was buried.

Police believe the death may have been linked to a robbery attack. Investigators suspect that Wang was struck on the head with a blunt object and that the attackers fled after stealing a cold wallet containing the cryptocurrency assets he was carrying.
Investigation Uncovers Possible Motive Behind the Crypto Dispute
As detectives looked into the case, they uncovered information that suggested the motive behind the cryptocurrency theft attack. According to the report, authorities learned that different suspects traveled from China to İstanbul, claiming that Wang had defrauded them. These allegations raised the possibility that the incident began as a financial dispute.
Investigators say the suspects obtained Wang’s location with the help of a woman who knew him. Turkish authorities now believe the suspects lured him to the field where the fatal attack took place.
Ten suspects have been identified in connection with the case, including nine men and one woman. Turkish officials issued international arrest warrants through INTERPOL in an effort to bring those responsible into custody.
